House of Cards Season 3: Unanswered questions

Standard

By Anamika Roy

I had promised myself I would take a full week to get through this season of “House of Cards,” but the truth is, this is a show that was meant to be watched in an irresponsibly short amount of time.

The credits for episode 13 in season 3 are still rolling in another tab as I write this. That’s how badly I wanted to get my thoughts on this season off my chest, so here goes.

If you haven’t finished season 3 yet, stop reading. I repeat, STOP READING. NOW.

Binge Diaries: “Galavant” is the Ultimate Acquired Taste

Standard

By Josh Axelrod

There’s something awkward about watching a TV show try really, really hard but come up just short. You respect that everyone involved gave it their all, but that doesn’t make the show’s weak elements any stronger. ABC’s eight-episode miniseries “Galavant” had its moments, but it’s the kind of show I could never recommend to anyone because, frankly, it’s just not good enough.

Binge Diaries: “Breaking Bad” Mostly Lives Up to the Hype

Standard

By Josh Axelrod

***I will go into a few specific details of events from this show, so SPOILER ALERT***

I had a weird relationship with “Breaking Bad” before I started my binge a little over a month ago. I had tried it a few years ago but was bored by the first few episodes and gave up, admittedly too quickly. Ever since, all I heard about it was that it was god’s gift to television and the greatest show ever and yada yada yada.

THE BINGE DIARIES: ‘LOOKING,’ ‘BLACK MIRROR,’ ‘WILFRED’

Standard

By David Oliver

OK, so, first of all, apologies I haven’t written here in awhile. There are these little things called “work” and “life” that sometimes get in the way of this blog (what are those?), though I think once the regular 2015 TV season kicks in, the posts will be back on a more normal basis. But I digress…

In the midst of re-watching bits of “Grey’s Anatomy,” because who doesn’t, and a full-on re-watch of “Parks and Recreation,” I’ve been making some time to watch some different shows I’ve been told to watch.

BINGE DIARIES: THE ‘GILMORE GIRLS’ PHENOMENON

Standard

By David Oliver

Let me preface this by saying I know many of you probably won’t read past these first few graphs. “Gilmore Girls” certainly isn’t for everyone. Not for my roommates, not for my mother, not for anyone.

But I don’t really care, because I think it’s brilliant.
