Standard

By Josh Axelrod

Before launching into the recap of a pretty standard “Big Bang Theory” episode, I want to pay my respects to Carol Ann Susi. The woman who voiced “Mrs. Wolowitz” passed away this week, and we should all take a minute to acknowledge her contributions to this show. RIP Debbie.

“The Misinterpretation Agitation” was a weird episode even by “Big Bang Theory” standards. Not only did it dive head first into the heart of nerd culture, but it tried to tackle the issue of gender politics in the field of science. Take a guess which storyline was most successful.

“The Expedition Approximation” had two questions on its mind:

  1. Will the balance of power shift between Leonard and Penny now that Penny makes decent money?
  2. How long can Sheldon and Raj last in a hot, dark and moist mine?

One question was answered in spectacular question, while the other required a little perspective for Leonard and Penny to get over an inherently stupid issue.

Big Bang Theory S8E5: “I’ll Make the Popcorn”

We’ve seen set-ups like this a million times before on this show. The man-children and women will split up for an episode and go off to do their own respective things. In “The Focus Attenuation,” the man-children decided they needed a weekend to themselves to come up with the next big invention. The women decided this was an excellent opportunity to get schwasted in Vegas.
