Gracepoint S1E10: “I Never, Ever Meant to Hurt Him”

Standard

By Lexie Schapitl

By the end of this recap, devoted readers, you will know who killed Danny Solano. This week’s “Gracpeoint” finale opens with Carver in the hospital having his heart tested. When he returns to the police station, he is suspended due to his health, but disregards this and continues to work as usual. After asking Ellie if she ever found Tom’s computer, knowing full well she didn’t, he tells her that he called Joe and Tom to come down to the station.

Gracepoint S1E8: “I think I’m Dying”

Standard

In this week’s episode of “Gracepoint,” with Tom still missing, the search team continues to comb through the woods near where his bike was found. At the Miller’s, Owen can’t seem to comfort a crying Dillon, and Carver tells Ellie she should go home, calling her by her first name for the first time. Joe agrees, insisting that Dillon needs his mom, and the search team can take it from here. What seemed like minutes later, Paul finds Tom after he hears something in the trees.

Gracepoint S1E7: “All You Care About Is Other People’s Children”

The town of Gracepoint comes together to hold Jack Reinhold’s funeral. A choir sings the hymn from the Titanic (which I recognized instantly), and Paul delivers the sermon, saying the community let an innocent man “be smeared and intimidated.” “We failed him, just as we failed and continue to fail Danny Solano,” he says. Later, at the repast, Carver confronts Paul about his veiled criticism of him and the rest of the police department. Paul says it wasn’t veiled at all: Paul told the police they should be protecting Jack, and they ignored him. This, the same day the papers have called Carver “the worst cop in California.”

Gracepoint S1E5: “Everyday That Goes By, It Gets Harder”

As of this week’s episode, we are halfway through the ten-week “Gracepoint” miniseries event, and the storyline is right about where it needs to be to wrap things up in the next five episodes. More suspects have continued to emerge to keep viewers guessing, but I do worry the show will have trouble filling time with quality episodes (I have dubbed this the “24-effect.” See also: “Pretty Little Liars”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “One Tree Hill”).

Anyway, here’s what you should know for next week:

Nothing groundbreaking was revealed in this week’s episode of “Gracepoint”, and with so much going on, it can be hard to keep things straight. But here’s what I think you should know from episode 4:
