So, “Grey’s Anatomy” has been pretty morose lately. Rather than recap the last two episodes, I thought I would examine a bit how the show has shifted this season into something new and fresh, and what the timeline looks like for the series’ inevitable close.
Confession: I think after a bumpy start, “Legend of Korra” became a better overall series than “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” For the record, I think both shows are the pinnacle of animated television in terms of visuals, storytelling and character development. But there’s one thing that “Avatar” never would have dreamed to do that “Korra” went for with almost reckless abandon in its finale. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Korrasami.
Show of hands: Who here has ever read a Grumpy Cat meme in Aubrey Plaza’s voice? Just me? Fine, make me feel weird.
Plaza’s “Parks and Recreation” character April Ludgate is the human incarnation of grumpy. She revels in schadenfreude and tends to take every situation and make it dark and depressing. That type of thing gets her up in the morning. The woman is hilariously morose and has one of the best deadpan monotones I’ve ever seen.
