“The Big Bang Theory” And Why the Best Comedies Are Also The Best Dramas

The Emmy Awards used the hype surrounding Oscar week to mask its big announcement about reforming its categories. In addition to revamping what’s considered a mini-series and expanding its comedy and drama categories from six to seven nominees, it also set a strange precedent for what is now considered a comedy and a drama.

10.) Big Bang Theory

Eight seasons in and most shows would be showing signs of a permanent decline. “Big Bang Theory,” on the other hand, is just as funny as ever. It’s not exactly redefining the comedy landscape, but when you turn on an episode of “Big Bang Theory,” you can always expect to chuckle a lot and laugh out loud a few times. And sometimes you cry too, like when Sheldon FINALLY told Amy he loved her. More often you’ll cringe, like when Stuart had a date with Howard’s cousin who Howard had, umm…I take it back, this is a stupid show. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. – Josh

Emmys 2014 Best Dressed: Red on the Red Carpet

Red was the color of television’s biggest night. While there weren’t any outright disastrous red carpet looks (okay, Lena Dunham’s was questionable), there was some fantastic standout looks and even some surprises. The problem with wearing red on a red carpet, besides the fact that your couture blends in with a carpet, is that it gets monotonous after the fifth gown.  But, some of the best gowns were the ones that didn’t conform.
